State Senator Cristina Castro will serve as our honorary chair, and award recipients will include Luis Cabrera and the EFS Foundation for their service, partnership, and generosity.
United in Hope will feature a $500 cash prize drawing, silent auction items, and entertainment from several special guests. Enjoy the musical stylings of Andrea Michel and Brian Castillo, a cooking demo from BeaUnique Latin Kitchen, a reading from Elgin’s 1st Poet Laureate Chasity Gunn, and watch Femmeprov perform LIVE, where anything can happen!
While the livestream is free to everyone, tickets come with a “gala-in-a-box,” featuring all the items needed to create a party experience in your own home. Individual tickets start at $50 and include access to an exclusive pre-event mixology tutorial from the tequila experts at Mago in South Barrington, a commemorative glass, fixin’s for a DIY margarita, automatic entry in a drawing for ticketed guests only, and other fun surprises.
Sponsorships of different levels include various advertising opportunities.
The theme of this year’s event, United in Hope, is especially appropriate in these unstable times. With the barriers of social distancing and the uncertainty of the future, it is more important than ever that we remain United in Hope, no matter how far apart we seem.
Most important, this year’s gala remains a crucial opportunity to support Centro and the vital services we provide to the greater Elgin Area.
In 2019, Centro’s dedicated staff served more than 13,000 clients, most of whom made less than $15,000 annually. Centro has supported those in our community who are most vulnerable, providing invaluable services to immigrant families, single parents and children, and people of color. Citizenship workshops, immigration services, parenting classes, translation assistance, emergency food, job fairs, health screenings, and weekly educational seminars are only some ways in which Centro supports our immigrant and Hispanic neighbors.
With participation from hundreds of guests, sponsors, and donors like you, we plan to meet our fundraising goal and sustain the important work of Centro de Informacion in our community.
Thanks to our partner, Gail Borden Public Library, for all your great work with us on the Census this year. Remember, it’s not too late to get counted! Get counted here: 2020census.gov
